Re: iPad - experience
I have one. Writing on it now. It's a fun toy. It is not a laptop replacement. It is a good Internet reader, book reader and fun game machine. As long as that is what you are looking for then grab one. The apps are great and the overall form factor and interface is a pleasure.

Where to buy in UK/London?
Hello,
My wife and I will have a long weekend in London (and a short business trip to Southampton) in a few weeks. I'm looking for any suggestions for good shops to visit and look for some interesting buys. We prefer Colheitas over Vintages if that narrows anything down.
Thanks,
Mac

I've never heard of Alupka - can anyone help out?

1940 Burmester Colheita Port
Shamed into writing my first TN, so be kind. The bottle was bought from the Burmester Lodge in Vila Nova de Gaia and brought home by air. The fun part was that I got to try some from an open bottle left over from some VIPs - maybe the previous harvest tour? A quick check on the wife's international ...

Re: N.V. Carvalho & Filhos (José Viseu) Porto Special Reserve Wh
Glad you found this. I found this during my one trip to Porto and upon my return searched and searched until I found a case. I also bought a number of the 1952 Dalva. In my opinion, the Dalva is better, but my wife prefers the Casa Santa Eufemia. I have found both to be great ports, perhaps more so ...

Store recommendation in San Francisco?
Hello,
I'm going to be out in SF (from the east coast) and will have a few hours to kill. Are there any great wine stores worth visiting in the city?
Thanks,
Marc

Re: 1964 Krohn's Branco Colheita Port
I followed Glenn E's approach and bought two bottles as soon as I read the first post. It's the lightest color white port compared to the other two I've had (Dalva 52 and Casa Santa Eufemia Special Reserve). I have to admit I found it a bit sharp and almost tasting a bit like a scotch whiskey. It ha...

Re: Any Experience with Garrafeira Nacional?
I did go ahead and order 8 bottles of 1952 Dalva Golden White. The price was a little high (IMHO), but I've had trouble finding this elsewhere. The order was processed and shipped promptly. Overall I'm very happy except I'm already down 3 bottles -- 1 downed by me and 2 for the bro-in-law. Thanks fo...

I second the vote for the 1952.
I also like Casa Santa Eufemia's old white port - dry.
