2000 Kopke Colheita Port

Kopke Colheita 2000: Ruby in colour. Perfume was plesant. It had some pleasant fruit & other tastes, but the typical sharp, rough, spicy Kopke experience was present with a vengence. It probably needs to airate for a very long time before drinking. Some distant spicyness would not necessarily b...

10 Year Old White Tawny Port by Niepoort

Niepoort Aged 10 years old White: Fairly dark in colour for a white port. Quite close to a very old tawny actually, only more translucent. Perfume was light & refreshing. The taste was soft, full, and rich. My only regret was that I had to drive home, and therefore had to limit my intake. The b...

2004 Kopke LBV Port

Kopke LBV 2004: Ruby in colour. Perfume is pleasant. Suprisingly soft for A Kopke. It did not have the sharpness I have come to expect from a Kopke, and this is a good thing. Fairly round in its taste. Enjoyable enough. It is not my favorite portwine, but I would definately not refuse another glass...

VISITING PORTUGAL.

Hello, I am considering taking a 5 or 7 day vacation in November or December, and possibly will go to Portugal for the first time. What are the best "Porto Vinho" places to visit?. My interest in port is big, but I want to see lots of portugese culture also. Porto & Villa Novo de Gaia...

QUINTA DE VENTOZELO

Hi All, I am not sure about a few things, and was wondering if anybody could clarify them for me. Recently a friend and I enjoyed a botlle of "Quinta de Ventozelo - 20 year old Tawny". It was good, but different than I expected. It was a pleasant suprise, but I had a 20- year old Graham's...

GARRAFEIRA PORT.

Hi There, Recently I have been looking on the internet for information about GARRAFEIRA Port, but have not found much information about it. I get the impression that NIEPOORT is the only shipper that still makes it. Is this true?. Are there still Garrafeira ports on the market from other companies....

Re: VAN DER NIEPOORT / COLHEITA 1995

Hi Andy,

Yes I do mean Dirk van der Niepoort. (The only Dutch shipper). I have decided to start tasting and noseing more of his port wines in the future. It was a great bottle.

Sincerely,

Christopher

1995 Niepoort Colheita Port

Port Lovers, Recently I had the opportunity to experience A "van der Niepoort Colheita 1995". What an experience!!!!!. It was a deliciously soft and rich experience. The sharpness I have come to expect from less delicate portwines is as good as removed from this Divine beverage. The only ...
