Hello,
I just opened a half bottle of Quinta do Pégo 2000. On the cork, it's written :
Quinta
do Pégo
VIRGIN
VINTAGE
2000
Never seen 'Virgin' on a cork. I opened maybe 100-125 vintage ports, so the range is not huge, but it's not my first. What does it mean, and why is this word there ?
Thanks

Re: Did you offered or received Portwine in Christmas Eve ?
I received a Taylor 94.
That is just great considering I am in Quebec. There is no Taylor 94 available here or in Ontario. The bottle was bought in USA and someone who was coming for Christmas took it with her. That's a great bottle, and even a greatest effort to get it ! Much appreciated !

Re: Warre's 1999 Late Bottled Vintage Port
We had it in Quebec for the last 2 years, but now it's gone ! Hopefully, we now have the 2000. It's the most expensive LBV here at $37 CAD. I had it twice. It had a great complexity for that type of port. It was well balanced, but just a little bit too much heat. I really like the fact that they kee...

Re: A few questions for a tasting
Thank you for both answers. I think 1 bottle per person is way too much. The thing is that I don't have any problem opening 5-6-7 bottles and drink the remaining port 1-2 days after the tasting. I just want to have a good mix of bottles to have an interesting tasting. I'll keep thinking about it and...

Re: Work in Portugal
Thanks for your answer Roy, I'll try to contact some more Port houses. I didn't write on the board since my introduction post, but I read every 2 or 3 days. I don't write for 2 reasons. First, I don't drink port as often as most of the members here. Next, my english isn't that good and it's really h...

Work in Portugal
Hi, I'm not sure I'm at the right place for that kind of information, but I try anyway ! I live in Canada and am still a student. I work this summer and will go back to school in january, so I have a hole for 3-4 months. I went to France, Spain and Portugal last year as a tourist and really enjoyed ...
