Some years ago I acquired a bottle of Niepoort 1952 Rich Ruby. Does anyone have experience with this specific bottle or with Rich Ruby in general? I am not familiar with this style.
Looking forward to your replies!

Re: Which VP year do you have the most bottles of?
Nice thread. After checking my cellar, I haver come up with a top 5:
2000 (52)
2007 (39)
1997 (38)
2003 (36)
1994 (34)
So the youngsters certainly do dominate.

12 bottles of Burmester VP 2007 at € 27,00. Maybe not a port for the ages, but enjoyable in the coming years.

Yesterday I bought two bottles of Niepoort Polder LBV 2005 for € 15,00 each. I guess these are made especially for the Dutch market. Has anyone tried these yet?

1987 Kopke Quinta de Sao Luiz Vintage Port
Tasted at Christmas dinner 2010 with my family. Expectations were not all that high, but I must admit that it turned out to be a surprisingly good bottle. Decanted for 8 hours, with tons of sediment, this port was no longer dark. Lots of fruit, soft on the alcohol. It was really balanced with a long...

Well, well, well, tension is rising over here on a very hot day.
Next tuesday there will be over one million people alongside the canals of Amsterdam to experience the homage of the Golden team of Orange.
There's absolutely no doubt which team is going to be victorious.

Re: What Port(s) have you purchased this week?
Last weekend the former importer of Burmester in the Netherlands had a "Wintersale", which included his last stock of Burmester. So I purchased 18 bottles of VP 1997. A very nice bottle indeed!

Re: Do you remember your very first FULL CASE purchase of Port?
Yes, I sure do remember the first case. After trying many "singles" in the late nineties, I bought my first full case of VP in january 2003. It was a Burmester 2000 that cost me 165 Euro at the time. The Dutch importer of Burmester was based near my town, so actually from then on I got me ...

Right now I really like the Barao de Villar LBV 2003 a lot. It is inexpensive (around € 8,00) and good value. It is a rich and full port that several friends of mine who are not regular port consumer like a lot.

Hi Roy,
as a matter of fact I am really curious about the way producers determine their prices. Is there actually any relation to their costs of production, do they look at pricing of the other producers or is the pricing of the last year simply leading?
