At facebook his alias is Vitor Teixeira. But that is obviuos an fake alias - his real name should be Antonio. He should have been reported to the portuguise police. IVDP know who he is. I am indialog with the seller - and I think he is quite surprised to. I do think he will take the bott...

Re: How to determin originality?

From a private Portuguise seller - done business with him before. You can never be 100% with people - but I had a good feeling. Actually there is a possibility he didn't konw himself (seller) - but if he will not let the deal go back - I will naturally give this forum his name - so others won't deal...

"The bottle is fake" - how can you say for sure? I'm well aware it might be - but how can you say for sure - based on which information?

Best regards

How to determin originality?

Hello It has been a while since I last postet a topic - good to be back :-) I just purchased a Niepoort 1896 "blue ribbon". I am well aware that a lot of fake bottles recently hit the market. But how does one determine the originality? The bottle comes with a garantia-seal - but I need som...

Re: Colheita 1963 - producers?

Rounding up - if you should have misunderstood Roy - there has never been a RED COLHEITA 1963 from Dalva - the depleting 1963 from Dalva was a "vintage port". Nice pic of the 1963 colheita from Feist. The 1963 colheita list is as follows: Dalva ("golden" white) Burmester Krohn Ko...

Re: Colheita 1963 - producers?

Nope - Dalva only made the white.
Yes - Feist made a colheita 1963 - so did: Calem, Van Zeller, Royal Oporto and Andresen.

Colheita 1963 - producers?

I'm trying to gather some kind of overview in regard to colheita from the year 1963.
I do know: Burmester, Krohn, Kopke, Dalva (white), Messias, Feuerheerd, Barros, Romariz, Maynard, Niepoort, J W Hart, ...?

Bring it on - maybe with some links - where you can still buy ;-)

RYST-DUPEYRON mailed me an answer - here it is: "Dear Sir, ... We are very pleased to see that you are interested in our ports. So i am going to tell you a little more about our ports. JW Hart is our brand. We buy cask from differents producers of ports in Portugal. They bottle the prots for us...

Re: J W Hart ???

Andy - I think you hit the spot! But it could be interesting to know, if the "BOB" want to tell, which producer(s)/quinta(s) actually delivers the port? One, two og from many different places. If the latter - then it is very hard to say, that J W Hart has its own DNA/style... I don't expec...

J W Hart ???

What can you tell about this "producer"? J W Hart? I've seen a standard tawny, white and a "organic reserve ruby". But also a lot of colheitas - but "colheita" is typically not mentioned on the label - instead the label says "matured in wood" - on some labels ...

Re: What is the BEST 20 year old Tawny you've had?

I'm surprised - not many, if any, has mentioned Krohn - I love this port - but must admit, that I haven't tasted al the 20YO mentioned above.

Re: Vintage Trivia

Andy interpreted my question spot on. There was no "trick" to this question. Henrik got the Vargellas correctly. I was not asking about the VInha Velha, just the regular Vargellas releases. As to 1912 bottle photo, that is unfortunately on the FB page of For The Love of Port. Couldn't fin...

Pictures of Taylor Vargellas 1912 and 1955

If possible it would be highly appriciated if someone could upload (PORTraits) some pictures of some of the rare unofficial, "not released" Vargellas like the 1912 and 1955.

Re: Vintage Trivia

Sorry - my post was meant to be a response to your list of Vargellas vintages - but i quoted the wrong post!
