Re: What Port(s) have you purchased this week?

Unfortunately their prices do not include VAT. So add another 23% to this price (EC countries only). Sorry, but that is incorrect! All their prices include VAT and I am completely sure: I'm a regular customer of GN !! My apologies Paul, I was incorrect. I was mislead by the text on the first page o...

Re: What Port(s) have you purchased this week?

US$ 225?? That was a bargain! Lowest price in Europe (including appr. 20% VAT/Sales Tax) was around US$ 300. I bought nine bottles in three different batches and paid between US$ 300 and US$ 325 each. On Winesearcher one can still find them for this price in the UK, Denmark and Portugal. There is s...

1x Noval Nacional 2016 at auction 3x Graham's Stone Terraces 2021 Did the price of Stone Terraces essentially double for you, too? Suggested retail price in the US increased from $225 to $545! US$ 225?? That was a bargain! Lowest price in Europe (including appr. 20% VAT/Sales Tax) was around US$ 30...

Re: 2021 Vintage Port declaration

I am starting to figure out what to buy for my daughter as it seems to be slim pickings from 2021. Are there any more producers with a 2021 VP not on this list? I do prefer full blown VP's. Added Quevedo Quinta de São Luiz from Kopke (12,133 bottles, 600 magnums) Quinta do Arnozelo from Burmester (...

Re: 1995 Smith Woodhouse LBV Port

I used to love this LBV! Have you had it before, and did this seem typical to you? I recall it being much better than 88 points, but it's been quite a while since I've had one. So did I !! I had it about 12 (!!) times between 2012 and 2018 and my lowest score was 92, a few times 93 and all others 9...

Re: Decent youtube interview with Miguel Braga of Mourao

The “rumour” is true. The sale by the family has happened. Miguel has left his job at Quinta do Mourão and is looking for his next project. According to Revista de Vinhos: Falua enters the Douro After the Tagus and Vinhos Verdes, Falua extends its operation to the Douro Demarcated Region, where it ...

2020 Vintage Port Declaration

Interesting news:

https://grandesescolhas.com/e-da-sogevi ... o-vintage/

The article is in Portuguese, but I think the content is clear enough:
For Sogevinus Fine Wines , 2020 is the Classic Vintage year for its four brands: Kopke, Burmester, Cálem and Barros.

Re: What have you opened this week?

2018 Pintas VP Great idea: did you like it? I'm a great fan of Sandra Tavares and Jorge Serodio Borges and love their wines and ports !! I have tasted quite a few 2018 early in 2020 (Graham's, Warre's, Dow's, Vesuvio, Bulas, Viera de Sousa and Fonseca) but this bottle was bought for 2 reasons. We h...
