Hi
My records says that a danish bottled Fonseca 1912 was sold on TH Auctions (in Denmark) in december 2007, for 600 euro.
But you can buy some Taylors 1912 at the price of 1750 £ at Wilkinsons vintners in UK.
Cheers!

Re: 1970 horizontal
At our 70 horizontal almost a year ago, the bottles came in like this: The points are given 3 to the best,2 to the next and 1 point to the 3. best. The bottles are tasted blind, but you have a list over the bottles of the day. The Bold points are what i gave them on Parkers scale. 1. Fonseca 98 34 p...

Re: what can I expect from the 1985 vintage?
Hi All It is funny to read the old posts. But 10 years from 2005, thats not going to be enough. I have tasted 4 Fonseca 1985 within the last 2-3 months. 2 was with a cork, that turned purple (almost) with sparkling winestones in the cork, 30 min. after i opened them. Those were good, but not stunnin...

Re: 1963 Fonseca Vintage Port
Hi Nick A
Can you tell something about how long time before drinking you opened the 1963 ?
Going to drink Fonseca 1963 on both 20 february and 11. march, and have experienced the bottle as you describe it a couple of times before. i think i might have opened them to late.
Cheers

Re: What's the longest you've ever kept a bottle of Port open for?
Had a Grahams 30-years Tawny open for about 7 month. It was still ok to drink, but the taste didnt get near the bottle, when it was just opened.
I would say it had dropped at least 6-8 points (on parkers scale)

Re: Do you remember your very first FULL CASE purchase of Port?

Hi Port Lovers Joined FTLOP a few days ago, hoping to learn and share good experiences in our shared passion. I remember my dad, always talked about the port he drank when he was young, not for the love of it, but more to get drunk. And with that I mind, I jumped into the port world when a student b...
