This reminds me that I've yet to try the Noval. Six Grapes was the first Port I ever tasted, and I was smitten. :D

Would this be good drinking now? Or would it be "too old to be young, but too young to be old"? If that makes any sense at all... 8--)

Re: Seattle #PortDay event - January 27th 2010

I just wanted to point out: The title for this should read "January 27th 2012". :D I didn't want someone to see this and think it was an old post/past event.

Re: Need New Movie + Video Suggestions

If you like Amelie and/or Audrey Tatou, you might enjoy Happenstance. The universe conspires to bring together (or possibly keep apart?) two soul mates. I enjoyed the theme of the movie and the importance of little details; I don't want to say too much so as not to spoil it for anyone who may watch....

I saw from one of Roy's FB posts that you're training a new Sous Chef/Cake Decorator!
Yes, Taylor and I had fun. :D

Re: Port "descriptors"

Anyone who was at the most recent tasting in the Seattle area knows that I can find "chocolate" in many of the Ports that I taste. My ability to describe what I perceive on the nose and the palate is still very limited and basic.

Re: Why don't more people visit movie theaters anymore?

Sure. I wish they showed classic movies more often, but I think it usually starts in October each year and continues through December. They seem to show a lot of kids' movies.

Re: Why don't more people visit movie theaters anymore?

It was built in the 1940s, and it's fun to see an old movie in a theater that was around when the movie was originally shown. The theater has a single screen and is defin...

Re: Why don't more people visit movie theaters anymore?

I actually LOVE seeing movies in a theater instead of at home. Something about the big, dark room with a huge screen; watching the movie with a lot of other people; the movie-theater snacks (popcorn at home is never the same somehow). [1974_eating_popcorn.gif] I also like seeing movies when "ev...

Re: Portuguese Chicken Recipe

Well, I don't know about healthy (chicken skin), but it is delicious! You could always take off the skin, but you lose a lot of flavor that way. (And you'd have to add a little bit of some other fat to saute the vegetables in). I got the recipe from a Portuguese cookbook that I got recently. I've ma...

Portuguese Chicken Recipe

I tried this Portuguese recipe this week and enjoyed it, so I thought I'd share. I personally wanted a little more sauce, so I'd recommend doubling the sauce part if you want it a little saucier. I thought orzo made a nice accompaniment. Galinha a moda do Pico: Baked Chicken with Tomatoes, Peppers, ...
