The Vintage Ports are expensive there, sadly. I’ am sorry, we were speaking about vintage, and the statement about the Port being expensive ‘maybe’ was applied to PV. This wine seller is located in a central area, and is usually visited by tourists. Considering the fact that he, in comparison, must...

I've noticed that VP is very expensive in Portugal and prices for older vintages are often insane. That said, Garrafeira Nacional had soom good prices on Warre's vintages. The '94 is € 45,-, and while still young, it is already very easy to appreciate. Didn´t forget Ronnie's advice, 94 is inded a w...

Ricardo, The Grahams '85 is a lovely port and I hope you enjoy it. But I still recommend the Vesuvio '94 :) Alex I’m learning fast. 1994 was an extraordinary year and is still at a good price (if you can speak of a nice price in terms of Portugal, a nation were the minimum salary is about 370€/mont...

Ricardo, My personal choice from the ports that you listed would be the Quinta do Vesuvio 1994. I opened and drank a bottle a few months ago and it was wonderful. 60 euros seems a fair price for that when compared to the current UK prices. If you do decide to choose this wine then make sure and giv...

Impressive. I never have thought about backup refrigeration systems, regardless being a good, better rational ideia considering the 'collection' and overall value. I was born in Madeira and lived there for 18 years. My fathers still live there. I knew that some Madeiras could be expensive but never ...

I have over 700 bottles of VP in my cellar at the moment (but no Fons '77) - could put some bottles in the car: e.g. Dow '97 @ 40 euros Vesuvio '96 @ 30 euros Cockburn '94 @ 40 euros Noval '85 @ 45 euros Fonseca '83 @ 55 euros Offley '83 @ 30 euros Graham '75 @ 30 euros Dalva '70 @ 25 euros Taylor ...

Shop around - there are much better prices to be had. In the Uk, Fonseca '77 retails for around £60 - less than 100 euros Tom That's a nice price, it's a shame that in Portugal the price, even better than the one at above, ardly can compete with that one. To buy from UK, I have to pay for shipping,...

Unless you're a tannin junkie, I'd go for something older rather than younger. '83 wasn't Fonseca's best year - but for the others this is a great value vintage. Tom I know that the 83 is not one of the best, but is the only older one I can reach (about 80€, the 1977 is more than 300€, the 1994 200...

Ricardo, Just a couple of questions first. Is this for drinking soon? Or are you looking for something to hold onto for a long time. Also, where are you located (which may determine what you can get and also allow people on the board that are close to your location to help)? Also, what are you will...
