Re: Quinta Nova 2006 LBV question.

The only '06 LBV I've had was Graham's, and it was a big disappointment. Lots of heat, not much else. Nowhere near '05 or '03.

Re: How to turn around Port sales into the black again?

In my humble opinion, port industry's problem is that most people don't really know what port is. If you ask a random passerby what port wine is, what is the chance that the answer is anything else than a variation of "red and sweet dessert wine", which is far from the whole truth? If you ...

Re: Graham's launches new Port

Once again I'm confused. Graham's organic Natura has been for sale here for at least a year (although it was recently removed). How can that be, if the launch of it is announced now?

Re: 2000-2009 VP's

The 3rd millennium started on 2001. That's a fact. Just because lots of people, guided by mass media, celebrated a year early only shows they didn't understand chronology. It's a waste of time to debate about this, especially here. So why not turn this back to debating about things which can't be pr...

Hmm, I don't know whether I should trust that article. The writer seems a bit suspicious fellow.

Re: Garrafeira Particular

I noticed that an online store I've used to buy port has on stock something which has a label reading "Garrafeira Particular, Vinho Generoso, Colheita de 1937". I have no idea what's in the bottle, but at 20€ a bottle I just might get some when I next order from there.

Re: Nonexistent ports?

Okay, now I'm confused. If the 2002 is still gently resting in your lodge, then how can bottles of it be on the shelf here? I can buy the 2001 here also (and I actually have a bottle of it). Obviously there's something I don't understand here about the release of Malvedos vintages.

Re: Nonexistent ports?

Fonseca has released at least 8 different crusteds over the years. Why no mention of it on their website?

But then again, my complaints about port producer websites is a topic in itself.

Nonexistent ports?

After reading the forums since last summer, I'll dare post about something. Two new ports came for sale where I live, and both raise some questions. First is Graham's Quinta dos Malvedos, vintage 2002. After seeing this, I naturally checked the forums for some comments. To my surprise, I couldn't fi...
