looks like I am the first to vote "yes"

I'm too poor and impatient to buy vintage port with any frequency. I think the "common folk" are more interested in things that they can go to the store and buy.

1992 Dow's Colheita Port

Bottled 2004

To me, I would say this tastes about half way between the Noval 10 yr and Graham's 20 yr. Maybe a little closer to the 20 yr. I still have to see how this will mellow out after a few weeks.

I don't remember much, except that it tasted like the 6 grapes, except stronger.

update: Now that I think about it, I DO end up tasting some mint. I actually like it quite a bit, even after a week in. It might have mellowed a little bit and lost some upfront fruit, I dunno. It doesn't seem to yet be going through that "getting stronger, then pungent, then mellow and sweet&q...

I had trouble opening the bottle. The cork was stuck and I ended up ripping out the top half of it. Then I butchered the bottom half and eventually ended up pushing it down in to the bottle. Do you guys have a recommendation for a cork puller? Decanted for ~2-3 hrs. Sorry guys, I can't pick out all ...

Theres "The Wine Club" in Santa Ana. You might want to take the 101 south coz there are a few wineries along the way. There's one called Blackstone in Gonzales that has a pretty good Ruby Port (if they have any left).

Andy,

I've noticed that it takes about 3 weeks for LBV's to change noticeably in my wine cooler.

update2: I opened up a Noval 10 Yr tawny today which I had sitting around for a while. Overall, it was what I expected a 10 yr tawny to taste like. I guess I would call it "pleasant but disappointing", as I was hoping to get blown away with lots of flavor. I like the 94 Krohn Colheita bett...

Hello guys, An update: I did get the Niepoort 10 yr Tawny , but was not really happy with it. It tasted a little bitter and "off", or weakened. My wine buddy said that it was "corked", although the guy at the wine store tried it and thought it was fine. He refunded my money anywa...

TNR: Quinta do Tedo 95 Vintage port

I see that a few places have this on sale at $20, down from 35. Is this a good wine? If I buy it, I plan to drink it soon. I guess it has been in the bottle for about 10 years now, so maybe it is coming out of that "dumb phase"? Thanks

update

I'm continuing to notice the phenomenon where if I leave a partially consumed bottle in my wine cooler, in a few weeks the wine "turns around" and starts to taste really good. Besides the Graham's I mentioned, this also happened with a Warre's Nimrod after two weeks. There was a touch of u...
