Latest Port buying op
Hi there. Just an FYI for those jumping on the latest buying OP. I had great difficulties checking out from the "shoppping cart" on my Mac. I could enter my purchase/shipping info, but could not advance to the payments page. In the end, I registered and entered/saved my shipping and mailin...

Hi there, New guy here from Portlant, ORE. Only been drinking Port for a few years, but it appeals to me on so many levels that its sure to claim many a paycheck over the coming years. Other interests are music (instruments), my dogs and Wife, and bad cinema. I am a layabout by choice, and a UNIX En...

Re: Thoughts on purchasing Port by the case?
I checked out Vinopolis today, and brought home a couple bottles (Deleforce 2000, and Quinta do Portal 1999). Nice selection, and as mentioned, nothing but cases covering the floor. Cool shop.

Re: Thoughts on purchasing Port by the case?
A lot of interesting posts. Thanks to you all for taking the time to write up your thoughts and experiences. Roy's longer post reads like a monolog from a Martin Scorsese movie. Throw in a few F-bombs and a couple fugeddaboudits, and we've got a new plot treatment.
Thanks again.
Thanks again.

or those evenings when I'm sitting at my computer, working on SEO and database backups for fortheloveofport.com and somebody asks a great question about buying cases... Or when you have to patiently have new users to log out, and log back in again. Yep, I am (trying to get) in it for the dri...

Oh, that's a good perspective. Re: New Segment for the Newsletter
Hi there, I'd like to see recurring segments on new houses in the Douro (or outside the Douro) producing Vintage Ports. There are quite a few smaller growers which have started producing their own ports instead of operating as growers. It'd be nice to feature one in each newsletter in greater detail...

Re: Thoughts on purchasing Port by the case?
Ah, yes Vinopolis does appear to have a pretty good selection. I missed this shop for some reason or other. Thanks for pointing it out to me, Lamont. And, thanks for the other replies. Sounds like I am on the right track. Any disadvantages to half bottle cases? Seems like it might be nice to open a ...

Thoughts on purchasing Port by the case?
Hello all, New guy here, (from PORTland, ORE) with a new guy question. I am considering moving from buying individual bottles of VP, to the occasional case, when/if the price is right. This would be to drink one, and store the rest in a cellar for 10-20 years. It looks like I'd be stuck ordering off...
