Re: PA Port Sale Advice

Yep, all 750s. Only issue is they won't hold for delivery and ship in corrugated. Fortunately shipping is done over 1 night. Got my first shipment today, everything seemed fine - spinning capsules, no leakage and no elevated corks. So far I've bought 3 x Churchill Gricha 2007 3 x Vesuvio 2007 3 x Ma...

Re: PA Port Sale Advice

By the way, shipping is free to PA (not available at all to out of state) - hopefully a few of you can benefit!
There's also a Broadbent Malmsey Madeira 10 year for $18.

Re: My Douro and Gaia adventures

Sounds like a wonderful trip and this is certainly getting me excited about my trip to Duoro coming up. I'll be at Quinta Do Tedo for 2 nights on your rec - if I can only squeeze in one or two other wineries during the trip what would you recommend?

Re: Convenient Places to Stay - Duoro

Thanks a bunch Andy, I will most certainly check it out and will let you know if I end up staying there!
Do you think it is necessary to reserve a time for tastings, or just show up?

Convenient Places to Stay - Duoro

I will be traveling to Duoro for 2 nights from Lisbon and am looking for a good place to stay, as well as good wineries that aren't too "out of the way". I haven't had a chance to look into this too much so far so any assistance is greatly appreciated. I'm not as familiar with Duoro/Portug...

Re: Beginner Questions

Thanks for the advice. I'm going to pick up 2 bottles of the historic series (is it strange that other companies have better prices than RWC?) - the Verdhelo and the Boal. I'll go from there. If looking for vintage madeira with some age on them - is auction the way to go? Are the prices at RWC reaso...

Beginner Questions

I am a relative beginner to all things Madeira - I've tried it a couple of times but at the time didn't realize the various types/styles. I'd like to buy a few bottles to get kind of a "crash course" on Madeira. The "historical" series at RWC sound from their descriptions as a go...
