And staying with Niepoort (1934 or 1935), in my opinion the 1935 Colheita is the better one. And the Colheita celebrating the Birth of Rolf from 1927 is also...

The bottle is intact. Only some old wax is sitting on top of the cork. Still dry...

I am not a bottle-expert. The bottom is flat, with some Numbers and letters...

Got this Shepherd's Vintage 1937 in the Post today. Tried to google some info. Only help was some links to older auctions, AND a link to this old thread here in FTLOP....

Allways funny to see the writing 'Vintage matured in cask'....

No bottling date on the bottle.

There was a topic earlier about 'Your favorite Year for Port'. And some did mention 1937.... The 1937 was bottled in 1978 and the 1970 (which is a rare bird this far north) was bottled in 1992. And speeking of Colheitas from 1937. I have had Niepoorts bottling (from the 1970s) on several occasions. ...

My recent buy, two sisters from Andresen. I remember Roy speaking highly about the 1970 Colheita.

And the 1937 is a Classic Year.

Boys night yesterday. Me and my Best buddy!
The Fonseca showed wonderfully, bit the Directors Port, bottled in 1971 (and matured in oak 'nearly' half a century) was a monster of a Tawny.
This is the third time for me with this Martinez, and it truely is an amazing port!

Andy, I understand why You are suspiscious. The bottle I just opend tonight, where bought more than a year ago - from the same auctionhouse. I Dont remember the Price, but it was not more than 65$ I only got it, because it is Roy´s year of birth... But, I have been drinking more than 100 old Tawnies...

Not really ready to open this Wine, But I had to figure out, if it was a fake bottle.

It was'nt
very smooth, lovely nose, a little sweet and creamy. Just the Way I like them.
