Re: Fake bottles in circulation

Seeing All 10 bottles, makes it easy to discover the counterfeit bottles, But Imagine having just one bottle, then it could have been impossible.

Re: 1970 Ports are they the best 1950-1999 ?

I will try not to 'interrupt' Your discussion. (My knowledge and english writing dosnt do the topic credit) When I got into port, some years ago, my Portmentor (the Danish importeur of Niepoort...) told me (the younger VP's) should be rated: 1) 1963 2) 1955 3) 1994 Personally after trying some diffe...

Re: What Port(s) have you purchased this week?

Came across some old TWAIOA from Niepoort. Bottled in 1978. I just had to get them... And YES they are still very pleasant! Tried one last year. And they are smooth like an old Colheita. Allan, you never cease to amaze with your finds of old tawny. If only they were so easy to find on this continen...

Re: What Port(s) have you purchased this week?

The bottle dosnt say. But my guess is a 1 liter bottle.
I put it on the scale, and it showed 1,4 kg. Another dumpy bottle of Niepoort weighs 1.25 kg.

Re: Dec. 2015: Your best Port tasted this year?

However by ratings of Vintage Ports I have a tie for 1948 Fonseca, 1931 Noval and 1945 Croft. I gave this weeks of thought and can't pick a favorite as all 3 showed in top form and any of those would be fine to sip on my death bed in a few decades. Roy, I wish You a looong great life. My Portmentor...

Still very fruity, But the tannins "has left the building".

A very pleasant Young VP.

Please! Let it be a legit bottle.
It would be very frustating to buy ordinary bottles without being 100% sure.

Looking forward to the answer from Burmester.

Re: Expansion of a Port category?

[quote="Andy Velebil"] Crusted Ports can be referred to as "I've got some left over stuff not good enough for VP, what do i do with it, I know lets blend some together and get rid of it." Of course, that's a satirical comment but is it far off? Sorry Andy..... [cheers.gif] I just...
