The 1906 was opened on Sunday for Uncle Tom and a friend of mine and Nicos' from the Ebob website BB, Phil Wilkins who also enjoys Port. It was great after the fantastic rugby win on Sat. night we were all in a festive mood. We met up at The Bell, a small and wonderful pub in the outskirts of Cambr...

Croft 2003 - the first Croft vintage to be foot-trodden. .
vintage since the vintage 1963 . . apparently and according to Decanter.
Anyone know why this is the case & what exactly does the “foot-treading” addition mean to the actual finished wine?

Birth year Ports laid down for your kids.
For me, Niepoort 1997 for the oldest (Oliver) & some Niepoort 2003 futures for the youngest (Katie, she’ll love it!) but sadly 1999 wasn’t a declared year for our middle child (George) so he only has a 6 pack of 100PP Rene Rostaing Cote Blonde!
Which VPs have you laid down for your children?

Old British bottled VP
Are they in general, a better buy, given good providence, than the same Estate bottles versions if available? The only bottles I have (Taylor, Grahams, Warre etc) and date from the 50’s & 60’s.
Thanks.

Great young Port experiences?
Sometimes, just sometimes I do like a tipple of younger VP mainly for the primary fruit. Has anyone any suggestions of young VP that is NOT complete infanticide but generally good for current drinking – I guess I’m thinking from the nineties onward?
Thanks

A bottle of 2003 Quinta do Noval Nacional – wasted.
Passing the Lea & Sanderman office in St James' St, SW1 on the way to Berry Brothers this afternoon and low & behold I was gobsmacked at the sight of a bottle of 2003 Quinta do Noval & 2003 Quinta do Noval Nacional (+4 other 2003’s) in their window in bright sunshine & with reasonabl...
