Looking for recommendations for a 2 day stay (could be expanded to 3 or conceivably even 4 days) 3 people: me, wife and 17 year old daughter (so it can’t be a...

Re: NY Times Travel Lisbon
I may be there this June... I am trying to finalize plans. If I go, it will be at the end of June. Lisbon, then the Algarve.

Re: TV Series
I binge watched the Tudors earlier in the summer, it was pretty good.
Right now, I am binge watching Game of Thrones, it's the Hobbit meets the Tudors.

winter and port
I'm doing one of my favorite things right now. I have my first fire of the season (in the fireplace of course!) and just poured a port (a 20 year old tawny in this case). This is what I love about winter the most. Having a good drink, with my dog at my feet, and getting up once in a while to stoke t...

Re: Your thoughts on order of presentation
I would agree with my friend John M, especially given the audience. They are probably more familiar with rubies and that is probably why I'd start with them. The LBV first in the ruby set, and for the tawnies I'd serve the colheita tawny first then the 30.

Re: DOMINIC SYMINGTON
Mr. Symington, Bom dia. I've been reading your answers, and am intrigued by the question of stock management. You mentioned feeling like you need a crystal ball. My question is whether you retain someone whose background is in mathematics, like an actuarial, to help predict stock management. To that...

Who is a port cellar minimalist
For a while I was trying to build up a modest port cellar, but I realized I was becoming more obsessed with buying than drinking and for various other reasons (proper storage concerns, space, finances, etc.), I decided to hold off buying anything other than a couple daily drinkers and drinking down ...

Re: How long has it been since you've ordered Port in a restaurant?
On or about April 30, I had port in "down neck" Newark, NJ with John M. Since then, I've ordered port probably twice. It been a miss. the waiters and bartenders just aren't educated on the subject, and therefore I assume neither are their clientele.
