Decant or pop and pour LBV's?

I always pop and pour but some taste better the longer they sit. So what do you do?

This is my every day LBV, it's not as good as the 94 but for the money it's hard to beat.

Steve are you talking about the Quinta do Noval Silval or the Quinta do Silval VP. Confusing huh :? Hi Andy, well I guess Steve Saxon is referring to Quinta do Noval 's Silval for Quinta do Silval brand their Ports as " Magalhães " :) MF Yes, I'm talking Quinta do Noval Silval.....is it a...

2003 Silval VP

I really know nothing about this wine but I picked up a couple of bottles for $25 a piece. Has anyone tried this wine, and how long to decant? Thanks.

I spent $400 on a bottle of 70 Nacional...I figured that when it's 50 I'll be 65, that'll be a nice birthday wine.

I agree with Tom, you won't go wrong with a longer decant.

1977 Taylor Vintage Port

I took this bottle along on a ski road trip this week and drank it over 3 days. I decant it for 7 hours but probably should have done 12, this wine is so youthful that it will last another 30 years easy. At it's peak on the 2nd day, the tannins resolved, the nose was wonderful and the finish was lon...

Well put me in the camp of liking the 77 Grahams. Clearly it's a misunderstood wine and the 3 bottles that I've tried over the last couple of years all started with different problems, either to hot or no nose or funky taste, but in the end it all came together for a very good but not spectacular dr...

1985 Grahams Vintage Port

This was my New Years Eve port. By the time we finally got through all the other wines, the port was decanted about 12 hours(I was planning on 8-9). A nice fruity nose not over the top, nice mouth feel with rasin, plum, chocolate and later a lot of coffee. The only major flaw was the finish which wa...

While I like the 95 a lot, I must say the the 94 Warre LBV was a much better wine. Lately I've buying thr 99 Quinta Do Crasto which I found to be more interesting and a little cheaper.

Roy, This was a bottle that I bought from PC maybe a year ago. I decanted it for 10 hours and consumed about a third of the bottle the 1st night. Not a big nose at all, nice somewhat muted fruit of plum and fig, surprisingly soft tannins for such a young wine and no heat to speak of. Day 2: I did ge...

2000 warre

For Thanksgiving I drank a 2000 Warres VP a nice but simple wine. No alc to speak of but this wine while pleasent is only a notch above an LBV. I only spent $29.99 on it and for the money is a fair price but this is not the best Warres that I've ever had.

To bad for Roy that the winner wasn't in Europe. Oh well, a trip to California sounds nice now that the rains have returned to Seattle.
