I have purchased from both Nickolls and from Vintagewineandport - both have given me consistently great service.Markus A wrote:

Re: 2015 VP's, will you buy?
Have any of the flagship SFE or TFP houses been declared (aside from the Cockburn centenary)? Take a looksie http://www.fortheloveofport.com/ftlopforum/viewtopic.php?f=1&t=40216 OK though that list includes Dow's and Graham's but I haven't seen/heard anything about these being declared other th...

Re: Which Quinta do Vesuvio vintages do you prefer?
Hi Thomas
We did a vertical of the Vesuvio last year - you can read the notes here. Good luck with your own vertical, though I must advise almost everyone at the vertical last year subsequently agreed that 23 ports in one sitting was a bit nuts

Would it also be the case that significant bottle variation could occur, depending on how the port is flowed into the bottle filler, with some uneven distribution of sediment forming materials occurring?

1955, 1963, 1966 (corked), and 1970. I got a whole glass of the '66 because no one else would drink it. As fate would have it, the G66 I opened on Christmas Day was also corked. Dreadful nose of rubber bands. I think that is the first ever '66 I have had that was corked - normally a very reli...

Re: What have you opened this week?
We had a special guest from Montreal via the Douro, Fred... I joked that we would open a 3L of '77 Taylor, but I knew he'd be too jet lagged, arriving late to Boston, so we opened a '75 Graham magnum. I had only had this vintage once like 8 years ago and figured an odd vintage and from a magnum wou...
