Re: What have you opened this week?
2000 Smith Woodhouse VP. Had this unopened case languishing for some time. I should have opened sooner! Great port. The nose is a rock star. Intense floral and kept going and going. Had one glass last night. For some reason I thought it was a Churchill 2000 case and needed some port to fill in empty...

A leaky bottle of '83 Fonseca. First night was not impressive but got better each night. Not one of the better vintages, but decent enough by itself.

My cousin used to manage Sparks restaurant (NYC) in the 1980's. He said that happened (empty bottles) to some '45 Taylor.

'77 Ferreira. Was watching Ferreira videos on YouTube and had to open something Ferreira at that point! In typical Ferreira fashion, the cork fell into the bottle. The port was sublime though. Any chance of some links to the Ferreira videos? I’ve got a bottle of Ferreira 1963 I plan to open this ye...

'85 Grahams. Been in the decanter 3 days, hope to finish it off tonight. I'm opening one of those this Saturday for my annual beach get together with my college buddies. How is it? We just finished it last night. After 4 days in decanter was totally smooth and sublime. It's not going to disappoint.

Carcavelos "Villa Oeiras 15 Anos"
Not "port" so cannot post in port section. Excellent fortified wine and very generous 15 year designation.![Toast [cheers.gif]](./images/smilies/cheers.gif)

Brought an '85 Fonseca with us to the Cape for the 4th of July. Have a touch left I expect to finish tonight. Needs to decant a couple of days or more to shine IMO.

Re: What Madeira Have You Opened This Week?
Been drinking a Saveiro 5 year old "Castanea". Has to be one of the best 5 Madeira's I've tried. Normally, I would not buy a 5 year Madeira, but like the Saveiro brand. It's aged in chestnut barrels which I hear is uncommon today in Madeira.

Re: What have you opened this week?
We started in on a bottle of Mouchão Sobremesa. I know it's not port... Takes a week in the decanter to really sing. Is that better off aging or can you drink it young? Where in MA did you find it, Moses? It's great young actually, I have a case to age out of curiosity. I bought it in Fall River, b...

Re: What have you opened this week?
Just finished an '80 Gould Campbell VP. Held up all week and still had plenty of life left to it. No rush to open, but I don't think it's going to get any better.

Re: Do you find yourself drinking more, or less bottles of LBV?
We drink more LBV's the last couple of years. Warre's being the most frequent followed by Dow. The biggest change in our port repertoire is non-Port fortified dessert wines from Portugal.
