Re: 1994 Croft Vintage Port

Would suspect an off bottle. I’ve had this a number of times and usually an excellent VP. Hopefully your next shows better.

Re: What have you opened this week?

1992 Smith Woodhouse LBV. Quick note. Still quite dark for an LBV. Resolved tannins. Though the fruit wasn’t quite peaked yet. Overall, in a great spot to enjoy. I don’t see too much upside potential from here though it will continue to age and be fine.

It was buried and had been for years, but this reminder prompted me to go dig it out since the bottles are getting old. They all date back to when Stefano worked for Kopke's importer in Seattle. I opened the 20...

Thanks. Always good to read how these older Douro whites are holding up with age.

Re: What have you opened this week?

The Souza buying op was so awesome.....amazing cellar defenders and quite enjoyable and the price was amazing. I may have one left, unless I traded them all to you, Mike. For all you non-member lurkers out there, if you want to see one of the best joys of being a member, read through the archives t...

No Sentinal falls between Vargellas and Fonseca Guimaraens from what I’ve been told.

On St. Georges Day ... 2023 announcement

Taylor’s has announced Sentinel is being released. But oddly, no others mentioned.

Moderator's note: I've some posts about Sentinel from the Symington thread to this one so that the topics remain distinct.

I have one on death row for sometime this year. Glad to hear it's still doing very well.

Another Ferreira not seen very often. Too bad it was slightly oxidized. But otherwise sounds like it was still a decently good bottle?

Is this Dow's Quinta da Senhora da Ribeira? Or something different?

Edit: It's Senhora da Ribeira.

Re: What have you opened this week?

A 2011 Kopke Colheita…that was corked. How rare is it for a t-corked tawny to be corked. Oh well, opened a lovely fully mature 1990 Quinta do Vesuvio VP as an emergency backup.
