Re: What have you opened this week?
On Saturday I had a nice dinner with my wife, our three sons and two daughters-in-law to celebrate my 70th birthday. I had agreed with the Maitre D to bring my own port for dessert/cheese. No corkage fee, just an extra glass for tasting [cheers.gif] The bottle was a NV DR L70, purchased at Agri-Ron...

Another puzzle, who can help me out here? Two weeks ago I bought two bottles of Flagman's Port in a German auction. Blackett 20yo white, bottled in 2023 What did you think of it? I had it recently so curious on your experience. Sorry for completely overlooking your question, Andy. Re: Antonio Aguilar Tonico
The question is whether quinine was added or not. I presumed this as the label also reads 'TONICO'.
In the meantime I found on Vivino that Aguilar is a winehouse owned by the Symington Family Estates. Funny, as Google can't find any other connections between Aguilar and Symington.

Re: Antonio Aguilar Tonico
What are the words in red on the "banners" on either side of the shields at the top of the label? The word on the right looks like it might be "degustada"? Port with quinine added is called quinado and - as far as I know - was a 20th century invention, so 1877 seems too early. T...

That Warre's is wonderful, try one early on and leave the other four to try once a decade from there on. :) Ignore this advice completely, if you are 50 or above. :) But to better appreciate these 2020 VP's, take a few days tasting one while it is young and you will love to gauge its evolution in t...
