Re: What have you opened this week?

We opened a bottle of S. Leonardo 40yo Tawny after our Christmas meal, outstanding stuff. Just my parents, SO, and I so there's enough left for another couple of sessions through the winter!

US to PT Travel 2020

I'm very confused as to where things stand right now. My understanding is that Portugal is one of the leading European countries in getting COVID under control and preparing for the summer tourism season, however I am reading conflicting information on whether they will be reopening to the US anytim...

Re: What have you opened this week?

1998 Fonseca Guimaraens 375ml. Popped and poured as a night cap on Mothers Day. Used a strainer/funnel due to a disintegrating cork. Definitely enjoyable but didn't spend much time thinking about it, we were too busy watching A Year in Port. I did notice a significant amount of honey though, approac...

Mike J. W. wrote: Sun Apr 26, 2020 10:58 am Is Seixo a SQVP for Sandeman or is it just considered a VP? Is Sandeman Seixo replacing the regular Sandeman VP going forward?
Seixo is SQVP. Sogrape declared a full Sandeman VP for 2016 and 2018, but a Seixo SQVP for 2017 (though some reviewers have it near the top of the 2017 vintage).

I've been able to pick up two of these at $44.50/ea (including tax and shipping) and another pair for $49.75/ea over the last couple of months from Wine.com. If you're patient and stack the right promo codes and offers, you can find some great deals.

Re: What have you opened this week?

Kirkland/Fonseca 10yo Tawny - Bottled 2019. Simple and a bit cloying, I get strawberry up front and spice on the finish. The first year they released it, it was great and then was mediocre ever since. Our Costco sells Warre Utima 10 year in 500 ml and 3000 ml bottles. They have Maynards and Pocas f...

Re: What Portuguese wines have you opened this week

Broadbent Vinho Verde - Girlfriend picked this up at the market this week since family was visiting. Light and slightly fizzy, I'm sure we'll enjoy more of this over the summer, it seems like a great lawnmower wine.

Broadbent 5yo Reserve Madeira - My first madeira was a Valentine's gift from my SO. Opened it a couple of weeks ago and have initially found it to be very raisiny. Need to spend some more time with it.
