Re: What have you opened this week?

Sounds like i have to open it in the near future. Well, it's an event worthy port, so don't pop & pour if you can help it. Unfortunately, pop & pour is the default at our residence. Not the whole bottle, but for sure a couple of glasses right away. Most of the time I decant them for a few h...

Re: What have you opened this week?

1970 Noval VP on Sunday. Went down quick. [kez_11.gif] What are your thoughts about it? I only have one bottle of it. One of the best of ports of the vintage, for sure top 5-6. Great color and powerful. Similar results with a bottle from the same case about a year ago. Racing against the wife to ge...

Re: What have you opened this week?

Happy soon-to-be 50th! Sounds like a fun gathering. What all else was opened? Thanks Andy! The other wines we enjoyed were 8--) [dance2.gif] [cheers.gif] : - 2012 Aspasie Champagne (small producer that I visit sometimes to pick up their wonderful Champagnes) - 1996 Wegeler Forster Ungeheuer Rieslin...

Re: What have you opened this week?

I want to a Taylors 1992 next weekend. What do you guys recommend for the decanting time? I was thinking about 12 hours. Ten years might be better! Seriously though, this is a young wine that I tried earlier this year, and found to be in a really awkward phase - I'd wait awhile.. I drank it yesterd...

Re: Help identify an old bottle

Sedielos is a small town in the Vila Real district of Portugal, which is in the Baixo Corgo part of the Douro DOC. I can't find anything about a Jos[e] Rodrigu[es|z] in Sedielos, but if it was a small producer in 1925 then it may no longer exist. I agree that it's probably a Moscatel and not a Vint...

Help identify an old bottle

I have bought this bottle thinking it was a bottle of vintage port.
After looking at the label, I doubt that.
I now think may be its a colheita Moscatel. Any one of you who has an idea?

Re: 1994 Quinta do Vesuvio Vintage Port

I tasted one of my bottles a few months ago, but for me it was too strong on the first day.
On my opinion is had the best taste on the third or maybe fourth it was open.
