Re: Which restaurant has the most impressive madeira wine list?
The only other restaurant I've eaten at who has a strong madeira wine list is Plénitude in Paris which offers some old D'Oliveiras by the glass

Which restaurant has the most impressive madeira wine list?
Last night I dined at Desarma in Funchal. The restaurant opened 1 year ago and has already earned a Michelin star. Amazing food and great service – highly recommend for any foodies out there. I thought it was considerably better than Il Gallo d’Oro which has 2 stars. Anyway, the reason I’m posting i...

Re: Tasting A Dozen Centuries Of Madeira
Thanks for sharing Alan, what a fabulous evening
Do you happen to have any photos of the 2 Pather bottles? I'm especially intrigued by the older one.

Re: Updating the madeira wine vintage list
Thanks Andreas, good to know
Well the list is far from finished so nothing to publish as yet. It's a work-in-progress, I thought it would be a good way to bring madeira community together

Updating the madeira wine vintage list
Hi madeira fans, I’d love your help I’ve often marvelled at the madeira vintage list created by Dr. Wolf Peter Reutter. Since the last time it was updated in 2012 many ancient wines, previously unseen at auction or at tastings have surfaced.I thought it was time for an update. I’ve already had a go ...

Re: What Madeira Have You Opened This Week?
I organised a 5-bottle tasting for work colleagues Sercial 1993 Barbeito Verdelho 1976 Blandy's Terrantez 1900 Unknown Boal 1900 Adegas de Souza Malvasia 1834 Barbeito All the madeiras showed well. It was the first time I had tried the 1993 MEF Sercial (bottled 2019). I was very impressed; a winner ...

Re: Post-war plantings/bottlings of Terrantez
Thanks for the insights Andreas
I pressed send to soon and forgot to mention the IVM bottle numbers being very close together! I think your'e right though the signs point towards these 3 MWC bottlings being the same wine

Re: Post-war plantings/bottlings of Terrantez
The Lomelino 1954 T isn’t listed on any vintage charts I’ve seen.
Do folks think the 3 MWC brands are likely the same wine?

Re: Can anyone help with this seal
Thanks Glenn, you identified a few more letters than me! Eric, that's funny, thanks for the hint that it's probably Verdelho. I thought it said RGH but now I see it's BGH. That helped me find this reference from a few years ago and much lower prices! https://www.fortheloveofport.com/ftlopforum/viewt...

Can anybody shed any light on whose seal this is. I can see Funchal and (I think) Junior but that's about it
Thanks

Re: Henriques and Henriques ancient Reservas
Good detective work Andreas! Love seeing the old label hidden below The part that puzzles me is the quantity of bottles Take the Malvasia 1875, your labels say only 316 in existence, This was printed in 1957. If you are saying that the Malvasia 1875 is the same as the NV Malvasia Reserva then the qu...
