Well, Alex, I am afraid it is the most discreet way I can utter my cry of despair not to have been able to assist, :?

And frankly, I am a bit curious about:

1. Did anyone around here go to this tasting?

2. Was it part of sort of a 'tour' or just an unique event?

Warre-Graham-Dow VP 63-70-85-94-00-03 (18 wines)

I was invited by the spanish 'Fundación para la Cultura del Vino' to a tasting of 18 Symington's vintages, namely Warre's, Graham's and Dow´s 1963-1970-1985-1994-2000-2003. The place was the Salón Real at the Casino de Madrid (Spain). The time, friday, november 11th, 2005. Excellent organisation, ve...

Mine is also labeled as unfiltered and "Quinta bottled in 2003", L-1203. I am just tasting the last sips of it and find it even more complex and concentrated (or weighted) on one side, while less alcoholic than just after opened, on the other side. Very good indeed, although I find it at a...

LBV Quinta do Crasto 1999 is the most recent Port I have tasted (bought in Spain, at Paco Berciano's Alma Vinos Únicos - shop in Burgos 'El Lagar'). I was a bit disappointed at first sight, as I found it a bit diluted and lacking strength. I would say that it was below '97 and '98, of which I hace r...

Yes, in Spain - I bought some halves in Palafrugell (Girona) a couple of weeks ago. Amazingly prized, BTW: 10 EUR the '94, 8 EUR the '97. Now it seems I have the choice, through a friend, of buying 75cl at around 20 EUR. If it is 1997, I'll pick one or two bottles. No more, because my cellar is abso...

Hi, Ray, nice to read you.

I know it is not a high end nor a 'high' label Port, but I was recently very positively surprised by a most enjoyable Osborne VP 1997: to drink now and probably in the next 5/10 years. Much better than a '94 by the same producer I drank together.

Maybe, although not completely off. It seems as if it has evolved in a not enough fine way.

BTW, I forgot to mention obvious flavours of milk chocolate.

Fred, I bought it from Paco Berciano, one of the most reliable Port (and any wine's) dealers in Spain. The cork was perfect and the (relatively) light colour is due to quite a lot of sediments. BTW, it is a half. Today I retasted it and, unless it improves significantly in the next days, definitely ...

Quinta do Passadouro VP 1994

First, allow me to thank Roy, Stewart and Mario for this effort: Good luck, men! I opened a recently bought bottle of Passadouro '94 yesterday night, just to have a sip, and, though I did not take notes, I found it a bit closed and inexpressive, still quite tannic annd light coloured. I doubt whethe...
