I've done the last two notes on the Crasto. This one was great, better than the last bottle and equal to the first? Perhaps.

1966 Kopke Colheita Port

From a 375ml bottled 2015. This is one of those Colheitas you just want to enjoy a whiff of every few minutes after a swirl. Drinking is not required to enjoy this Port. However eventually you do take a drink and are given a heady dose of lemon peach apricot. There is an underlying mineral tone that...

Re: December 2016 - Any Grahams Port

Indeed, Alex it is a 46, not sure why I wrote 45, as it is my favorite cigar from that small rock south of Miami I'm just glad to see another BOTL on here. [yahoo.gif] This thread has gone all up into smoke. LOL! [friends.gif][/quote] I'll have another chance tomorrow with a Monte #4 and a Grahams ...

Re: December 2016 - Any Grahams Port

1985 Grahams that was wonderful. The bottle held together quite well after the first day, perhaps even improving a bit as some of the more volatile elements smoothed out. I was thinking early on day 1 perhaps I should start drinking the remaining bottles, but days 2 and 3 convinced me otherwise. The...

Re: A different kind of wine fridge

I was in High school and we went to Hawaii where I visited the Dole Pineapple plant in Honolulu. I the lobby they had two spigots on the wall that dispensed fresh chilled pineapple juice, all you could drink. Now that was innovation.

Re: 2011 Taylor Fladgate LBV Port

I found a single bottle of the Taylors 2011 LBV at Trader Joe's. Most of the stores are sold out now and none remain in the warehouse. I haven't tried it yet, but the price was right. Since we use LBV's as our "house" Port I'm always looking for good wines for a good price. I looked for th...

Sure thing Thomas. I'll do the write up after we finish off the bottle tonight. It was a great start to our Christmas season. A Graham's 1970 is up later next week. [yahoo.gif]

1985 Graham's Vintage Port

The fully saturated cork came out in one piece, the bottom was angled perhaps 25 degrees. Warped from insertion or cut that way? Needless to say it did it's job well. Decant 6 hours, Spirit on nose along with aromatics, juniper? 70% opaque appearing fully mature. Front end was like a candied apple b...

Re: Barros 40 year Tawny

Tonight the Barros showed a new dimension, cocoa. Right on the front end and huge. No mistaking it followed by that biting acidity that is still overpowering but not sour. It certainly offers a multi dimensional palette, yet it has not quite evolved from it's individual elements into a cohesive whol...

Barros 40 year Tawny

A gift brought back from Spain, bottled 2006. It was a dark and cloudy Port. I'm not sure if it was bottle stink or ? but this was sour, weak and sour. I put it it the fridge and tried again 2 days later. Still cloudy, but this time a nose of toffee and spirit. The sour note had turned to a pleasant...
