Could be Andy. It would be interesting to know the bottle year of the Kopke, but I have not seen it myself - a friend gave me a tip when he saw a bottle on sale. It is the only time I have heard of this bottling.

Apart from those already mentioned: 1935 Kopke - probably the same as the Barros 1952 Presidential - probably the same as the Dalva The Casa do Douro released a 1963 and 1964 "Colheita Lagrima" a few years ago - I believe these to be White Ports as well. And of course there are probably ma...

You can add the Symington SQVPs to the list as well, but they will not be released for several years.

Not too surprising: if I owned such a great quinta I'd keep back a pipe or two as well! :)

Andy, I think you refer to the Vesuvio Reserve? It's a Colheita - made not for commercial use.

Thank for posting the notes Ronnie - it was indeed a fun evening! The Churchill was disappointing, but the JM de Fonseca made up for that - tasty indeed. Just a correction: it was the '65 we drank, not the '66. The '65 is much more concentrated than the otherwise also rather tasty '66.

I did not take notes on the wines, but here are my brief impressions on them: Podere La Vigne - Vigna do Tavola, NV – great wine at a great price. I’ve already checked, but this in unfortunately not available here. Niepoort Projectos 2004 Riesling – I was actually pleasantly surprised by this bottle...

Speaking of big bottles: I took this picture last week in the private cellars at Fonseca in Vila Nova de Gaia (a very droolworthy collection of VP in there!) - the two bottom bins contain double magnums of Fonseca '85...boy, was I tempted! http://farm2.static.flickr.com/1009/542168334_0e926f45a5_o.j...

Just got home from London! What a great offline - nice Ports, but even nicer people. And what a great location The Crusting Pipe is! Both Ilja and Beth enjoyed their short visit as well. I'll chime in with some of my impressions later this week, but let me just say that I enjoyed it to the max. Kill...

Tom, if you email me the pictures I can upload them to this thread.
I'll ask my dad to take a picture of "my" cellar when he returns from France next week - I store my wine at my parents place.
