Like most people, I have regarded LBV's as a drink that doesn't descend the cellar steps unless I have nowhere else to put it - ie it gets drunk more or less straight away. But I wonder... The so-called "traditional" unfiltered LBV's (although as far as I can make out they only appeared in...

I also noticed that the price of Dow's '97 was very reasonable recently, but havn't seen any bad reviews.

So I've got a case on order at 220 pounds delivered (= 395 US dollars) - but will probably stow it in my cellar for at least two years before I venture to try any

I take four cases "en primeur" in a major declaration year For better or worse, I pitch on the following basis: 1 case from a big trustworthy name - this time Noval 1 case from a promising dark horse in the big league - this time Delaforce 1 case from a major single quinta - this time Vesu...

If the revolution had inspired a bogus declaration, it would have been for the 73's ...

There are a number of books out there, but there is a noticeable lack of anything recent - despite the relatively slow pace of the subject, books written ten or more years ago look very dated now. I'd love to see Mayson launch a fresh edition of his book - to bring things up to date. Maybe he needs ...

Interesting observation - the Fonseca '27 gets a glowing tribute from Mayson, but appears to be very scarce now.

I have the opportunity to buy a case of Fonseca '55 at the moment (if I don't it goes to auction)

Horribly expensive, yet horribly tempting.....
