Topic: Why do older Colheitas taste fresher than older tawnies?

The quick answer is that Colheita is refreshed with younger port. It is not a secret for anyone in Portugal, though since its vintage wine, if you ask a producer, he will probably deny it. Some companies do not refresh their Colheita and I'd have to say that some are successful while others are dul...

It's always good in my opinion to try new combinations. I will NOT consider it a disrespect, I think if it makes more people to drink Port it's always GOOD, is a little bit like the French having the little melon with Port...or using Port to cook, of course that you will not use a classy Port for th...

What about little thought of folks like Sogevinus, Cruz etc... not to mention the behemoth Royal Oporto? Do you have an understanding of how many properties these shippers own? Sogevinus and RCV I think that they can cause some competition, but Cruz? Everybody knows that they are, in fact, the bigg...

I have no doubt, it's a tricky question but quite easy if we think a little bit.. In my opinion Eric, you don't lose nothing special.
The Crusted Ports available nowadays are not exceptional , I would prefer a goos unfiltered LBV!
But, I still suggest the Churchills Crusted bottled in 2001!
