Re: 1970 Fonseca -- Bottled by Corney & Barrow

I love 70 F & T-but there is variation from ready now to more time?-luck of the draw and condition.

This bottle as great as it was the first nite dropped to 16/20 the 2nd nite? Some hold on for a longer

time but this one didn't-bottle variation.

Re: 1977 Graham VP

I'm not the normal port drinker-I open ports and drink the bottle as needed-a few day to a month. I opened the 77G two weeks ago drank two glasses and then tonite tried the last glass in the decanter-GONE. Dregs in bottle(dregs hold up longer)(coffee filter). Nose: some oxidation-but still?ok? David & Moses:

You both must be heroes-I can't drink a whole bottle of VP by myself in one nite.

Older Ports-variability

Any views of variability in old VP(older than 1977) after opening-example good first-then lesser-then good at end?

Re: Is Noval Nacional worth the price?

In the first tasting the only ones I remember were the 1975 Nacional and the 1975 Taylor. My guess is that the other two were older than 1978.

In the second tasting we had the 1978,1980,1982, and 1987(the 78 was a leaker).

Re: Is Noval Nacional worth the price?

Not a fan of Nacional. In the 90's my wine group purchased 7 different vintages(no strong years) for about $100

each. We had two tasting(in the first I put in a 1975 Taylor to make 4 in each tasting) To my disappointment

it was much better than any of the Nacional's(all 8 wines were sound).
