Re: Portugal besides Porto

That is definitely a long walk from Setubal to Azeitao, even one way. I've driven that before, and out to Sesimbra and the Castelo there. That area is great. There are some great vistas along the Serra da Arrabida.

Re: What is the best value Port?

House Port right now is Warre's Otima 10 year. Found 7 bottles at my local Dominick's for $9.99 in the deep discount bin, and got all of them.

Re: Port and CellarTracker

What are the pros and cons of cellartracker vs. vinfolio? I currently use vinfolio, because that is the first such site I found and all of my wine is already in there. It seems pretty useful to me, but I don't have the knowledge to compare them.

Re: What Port(s) have you purchased this week?

Bought 10 bottles today. Dominick's by us has a deal where all wine in the store is 30% off until April 27, and if you buy 6 or more bottles, another 10%. (It's worth a look if you have Dominick's near you that are running this offer--ours has a section of climate controlled with some very nice wine...

Re: 2003, 2005, 2007 kids

Frederick,

Thanks for the clarification on 2005. It sounds like looking for the Vesuvio for 2005 is a good start. I also forgot at the time of my last post that I just bought 2 bottles of the 2005 Barros VP. So at least it is something for that year.

Thanks for the advice.

Portugal besides Porto

I'm new to FTLOP, and pretty new to Port, but not new to Portugal, having been there at least 10 times in the past 20 years. However, I've only been to Porto once, and not for the Port. In 2004 I was in Portugal during Euro 2004, and saw a game at Estadio do Dragao (Czech Republic and Denmark if any...

2003, 2005, 2007 kids

Good karma? My kids were born in 2003, 2005 and 2007. From reading here, it looks like 03 and 05 were general declarations and 07 is about to be. So, any recommendations for either (1) the best VP, as far as people think now, for each vintage to get some bottles of until my kids are 21 or so, or (2)...

Re: Taylor Fladgate declares Pink VP

Different issue, but what is the difference, if any, between "Taylor" and "Taylor Fladgate"? Are they totally unrelated, related houses, the same?

Hello from Chicago

Hello all. This is my first post here. I first found FTLOP in December 08. My wife and I have always enjoyed wine and Port, and we have a modest wine collection that varies around 150-175 bottles. Likely because we have spent the past 6 years in the stage of having new and young children (we are are...
