RWC special offer

RWC just sent out an email offer for a 6 bottle assortment if D'Oly Verdelhos (1890,1905, and 1912, two if each) for more than $1000 below their normal collective price.

You may want to check your email and give them a call before the offer sells out.

Enjoy :yumyum:

Re: 2016 FTLOP Madeira get together - UPDATED 4/1/16

I'm not going to steal any of Roy's thunder by including specifics. However, may I be the first to publicly thank Roy (and everyone else who made the events possible) for a truly stellar weekend. The wine, food, and company were all fantastic. In the elegant words of one of our more refined attendee...

My preference would be A and E. However, I'm sure open for whatever the group prefers.

Alan, I hope that you and Catherine are able to make it. I'd love to catch up with you two and hear about your travels over some great wine (The pictures Catherine's posted recently have been fantastic). [cheers.gif]

Re: Dec. 2015: What is your favorite Madeira tasted this year?

'15 wasn't a big year for trying many particularly old Madeiras for me. So, my highlight was more of a middle-Ager.. I finally tried the '68 D'Oliveirea bual. Boy, was that a delicious wine. (Also, really enjoyed the 1905 verdelho).

Re: 2016 FTLOP Madeira get together

35 Madeiras in one day? Where do I sign up for that? I'm willing to take on that challenge. I don't have a preference of order. However, I seem to recall that in SF we did the high brow on day 1, and it worked out well (didn't lose many folks for day 2, and it allowed us to re-taste again a little t...

Re: 2016 FTLOP Madeira get together

I'm definitely in as well. I do find it ironic that I'm stopped at this very moment for dinner on my drive down to move from the Seattle area to the San Francisco area, and event is headed the other way. That said, this will be one more wonderful reason to return home in the Spring. I'll keep my eye...

Re: What Madeira Have You Opened This Week?

1875 Barbeito Malvasia as a primer since there's a mere 7 days until OTBN (open that bottle night). It seemed like a good idea to open up something fun. While it is quite delicious, it isn't as wonderful as its D'Oliveiras counterpart.

Re: Your plans for turkey pairing?

2002 Chassagne Montrachet. It went perfectly with the turkey and cut the creamy richness of the gravy. We haven't had any Madeira yet tonight, but it's still early...

2014 Wine Spectator New York Wine Experience

Is anyone attending the NYWE next week? I've been the last two, and it's really an outstanding event.

Re: Madeira Tasting in San Francisco - May 17-19, 2013

Just returned from a nice dinner with friends in SF, bottles made it through the plane ride intact, 14 hours from the first taste. Life is good.

I look forward to meeting everyone tomorrow.

Re: Madeira Tasting in San Francisco - May 17-19, 2013

My $.02 is that if you recommend it, and it makes things easy, I'm all for it. It's about the wine and the company. everything else is just a bonus.

BTW, I saw Eric's post that RWC has a Borges Pather 1720 available, in case someone's feeling really generous about what they want to bring.... :P

Re: Madeira Tasting in San Francisco - May 17-19, 2013

I agree that it all sounds great, and the price points make sense to really have the experience be wonderful enough to support the travel effort/cost for some that it appear may be coming from far away.

Re: Madeira Tasting in San Francisco - May 17-19, 2013

I'm very interested in attending both nights and posted a few weeks back, but wasn't sure what the process is to know if there is/was still room prior to booking flights. Who should I confirm with?

Thank you
