Re: RWC Library Company bottling, clearance

Ok I guess I'll be the guinea pig. Will pick up a few and post TN's later in the main forum. There's a few reviews on Cellartracker, pretty favorable it would seem

Re: 1986 oliveros verdelho madeira

Re-visiting this post as I opened the xmas bottle 10 days ago... Razor sharp acid on opening, but after a day+ decanting it's quite lovely and balanced, not at all like I remembered. Still a pricey bottle, but if you love verdelho, you won't be disappointed. [cheers.gif]

Top 5 Suggestions?

Hi All, I've recently started exploring (and loving!) Portuguese wine, but would love to get some suggestions from more seasoned members. 1. Do you have recommendations on where to buy online? Typically my local wine stores only carry 4-5 different vineyards/bottles 2. Can you share a top 5 you've c...

Re: 1986 oliveros verdelho madeira

I had this bottle in 2016... candidly, I was ambivalent about it. It was easy to drink, perhaps a good introduction to madeira, but you could find cheaper blends like the RWC Savannah Verdelho and be just as happy. I received another bottle for Christmas, will post if my experience is any different....

1995 D'Oliveira Old Wine Madeira

Picked up a 3-pack early last Fall but finally had a chance to try over the holiday. VERY tight on opening, limp...BUT... 24 hours later, wowza a very nice tipple! I'm completely sold now on Tinta Negra as the value play for madeira lovers with lower disposable incomes. If I had to compare, I'd put ...

Hands down the 1901 D'Oliveiras Malvasia, tasted at the IVBAM event in Philadelphia. Knee-buckling intensity.

Re: TN: N.V. Rare Wine Co. Madeira Imperial Malmsey Old Reserve; Producer: Henriques & Henriques

Luckily I was able to track down a few bottles last year through the Brown Derby. I read a lot in these forums that the really old vintages fill the room with their essence, something I experienced with this bottling! I was a little disappointed though that the palate didn't blow me away as much. Do...

If any of my madeira brethren is willing to part with a bottle of this, at a reasonable price, I'd love to try! [friends.gif] [cheers.gif] [beg.gif]

Re: TN: Broadbent Old Reserve Terrantez Madeira

Given your experience with this bottle (or anyone else who'd like to chime in), what do feel would be a great price relative to quality? A local wine store has this on sale, was thinking of taking the plunge. Also, does anyone know how many bottles are out there? Seems relatively easy to find online...
