Wine Rack for 375ml/Half Bottles

I have a wine rack in my basement's cellar that only holds 750 ml bottles. My half bottles are currently laying in a cupboard. Any suggestions on racks for half bottles?

Re: What Port(s) have you purchased this week?

Given the 17% markup and paying taxes, I'm looking at the $25 per bottle range. Lots of 375ml in that range. I remember someone on here with a full hundred bottle cellar comment that he wished he had more half format bottles from the 70s and 80s so he could share them over dinner, rather than have ...

Roy Hersh wrote:Yes, that is likely. It is one of the top 3 Port clubs in the country and arguably the best of all. Certainly the most active.

Peter owns a restaurant with a great wine list.
Speaking of port clubs, any other clubs or memberships you can recommend? I'm from the Chicago area.

Re: 10 Year Tawny Tasting Finals

Good results, and thank you for sharing.

The Mogrado and Quarles, both found at Trader Joe's, are "house pours" for me.

On the other hand, the Mogrado Ruby is an entirely different story.

I picked this up yesterday, along with a Dow's 09 LBV for 16.99. The same store also had Graham's 20yr for 45.99. I passed.

Do not like. Light is one huge opponent of proper aging.

Re: At what age did you start drinking Port?

My first memorable port experience was on my 21st birthday in 1984 when we shared a bottle of Taylor 1963 at a family dinner. When I said that I enjoyed it, I was given the rest of my birthday present by my grandparents - an unopened case of Taylor 1963. I'm sure I drank port before that dinner, bu...

Re: Web-based Retailers

Less of a port focused place, but a place I've always been happy with as well is Wine Library out of NJ, they also run the Cinderellawine site. They are very accommodating on ship dates, etc. and have always provided bottles in excellent shape, though I've never bought 20+ y/o things from them. Ver...

Re: Web-based Retailers

I cleared out the Westhampton Fine Wine store last week. They were very accommodating on shipping prices as I was buying 18 bottles and always in constant communication. The bottle conditions were as listed, too.

Re: Wine Tasting Journal

I'll be the oddball and explain what I've done. I have a Microsoft Word document in booklet form. I keep all my tasting notes in that document. I print it out and staple it together with several blank pages in the middle, to which I add new notes. I type those into the Word document and print out a...

Re: Wine Tasting Journal

I prefer a normal journal type journal, somewhere in the 5" by 7" to 4" by 6" size range so it's small enough not to dominate a table or tasting bar but big enough to write in. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalkz. U Thank you. I found a notebook that matches your measurements fo...

I'm not sure if it's a flaw but I can't stand quickly dying finishes. I love any liqour/beer that coats your tongue and has that lasting flavor.

Nice! Missed that one. Are you free to say what you paid? Just curious what full price is on the '52 these days.
His price should be around $200 or so given the 50% off.

Quarles Harris 10 Year Old Tawny Port

Quarles Harris 10 yr Tawny. Strong nutty aromas with plum and candied fruits. Maybe even some burnt sugar on the taste and finish.
