I am in Calgary this week so going to pick up a bottle. Is the general feeling that the T stopper is going to be a problem if one wants to age?

I too picked up the Taylors `05 LBV for a good price....$22 Cdn.

Not Douro but PROVAM Portal do Fidalgo VV but passed on the Vinha Antiga (oak aged).

Flor de Crasto, agreed. Look out for Pomares, a red from Quinta Nova.

Most times when I research a certain wine, I see a reference from this Jennings chap. He has a great website and seems to taste endlessly! Has a good palate and also seems to enjoy older wines especially Barolo!

There are so many other Crasto Douro reds that are giving better value-for-money. 91 pts.

I have never come across/even heard of any late-harvest Semillon from Portugal, not even the Douro. So imagine my surprise when at DeVines today (I was helping out), I unpacked a 6 bottle pack of Grandjo from Real Companha Velha. I also came across, get this, Henriques Madeira Boal 2000 Single Harve...

TN: 2008 Quinta do Portal Colheita Tinto, Douro. I had a couple of glasses late last night, and as usual did not disappoint. Not one for the long haul however, red fruits and pepper on the nose. Big fruity flavors, hint of tannin still but very drinkable. Not at all international imo. Medium-bodied...
