Although I'm new to the Port world , I'm learning just by reading everyones TN's .
Unfortunately , living in Montréal , the SAQ tends to put a damper on the ability to get high quality VP . ( As Fred can attest )

Just purchased a Krohn 1958 colheita . ( botted in 2004 )
Should I decant ?

There were not many declarations in that year , however Krohn has a good reputation for colheita's .

The SAQ really makes the life of VP drinkers chalenging for us in Québec ... Fred , would it benefitial to order some bottles from the U.S. ? After trying a few 20 yr tawny(Taylor) , tried my 1st VP . Taylor VP ' 91 Vargellas . Decanted 8 hours . Very little hint of alcohol , colour very dark , sinc...

1st port of the new year

VP Taylor '91 ( 1st try at decanting . . . success )
Let it breath for 7 hours before tasting .
Wasn't dissapointed .
Went down smooth :)
