2000 Taylor Fladgate LBV Port
I saw "dry tannins" mentioned above. I agree. There's also quite a bit of alcohol on the palate / finish. Perhaps I'll pick up another bottle or two to see what happens with one or two more years bottle age. It's not a bad LBV but I think Warre is more my style for LBV's. Here's my contrib...

Re: Seattle-based ESQUIN'S wine shop & Port
Not quite as good a tasting as at Pete's but a very solid lineup, I'll get my notes up soon. I noticed one of the ladies pouring at Esquin was also at Pete's, must have been a representative from the importer or distributor.

Re: What is your preferred "device" for extraction?
You gotta be accurate and I don't recommend this after you've already been drinking some Port, but I prefer this method. .44 Caliber works the best  [yahoo.gif] I'd go for the Anschutz .22 bolt action rifle on a sand bag. Moses, thinking back to that night in Boston... we shoudl have used the...

Re: What is your preferred "device" for extraction?
Tongs are my favorite, I'll use them for young or old bottles but don't use them often due to the effort. Usually it's the trusy ah-so that gets used.
