Plan isn't solid yet, but it's looking like a mini-vertical of Quarles Harris. 1977, 1994, and 2011. The first from WTSO, the other two from Trader Joe's.

Port is hard to find in my current locale (Singapore) and Thanksgiving is not a holiday unfortunately... :(

1970 Graham is a good option. If I open one, that is a leading contender.

My daughter just turned 21 and I let her choose whichever port she wanted from my cellar---this was her selection (she chose well IMHO)

I realized I still have the Quevedo single-varietal sampler set that I never opened. Might be a good time to break them open...

What's the rarest one she could've chose?

Smart girl, for sure. You've taught her well. Congratulations! :winepour:

I just recently pulled my second set out of offsite and plan to open them at some point soon. With the small corks, and small formats as single varietals, I don't think keeping them long term would be wise.

Wow, never really considered actually trying them...

Very educational to try them. If you have a set, worth doing. You can really learn how each grape is on it's own and what traits it offers.

I had planned to revisit these using my second set over a year ago but never got around to it, so it's still sitting there waiting.

Totally agree about the corks and aging them... not in the cards for these samples!

As for Thanksgiving. I most likely won't be opening anything as I'll be driving to the relatives and for the most part, no one else in my family who will be there drinks wine. Tonight though is a different story. So long as the protesters play nice and I'm off on time I'll open something.

Sadly the danes don't celebrate Thanksgiving. And this comming weekend I am working, and concerning the previous weekend, I just got a small sip of a Quinta do Estanho 20 years bottled in 1995. Somewhat on the thinner side, with hardly any fruit or body.

I am longing for something good, with quality. I Think my next bottle will be a Niepoort Presidente. Now,That is a Tawny, that Can fill my senses.

Thanks for Giving me some Niepoort...

I'm in somewhat the same boat, where many of the folks we'll be dining with won't be interested in any port, but I'll probably decant something for myself for after dinner and tote along some Sauternes for the during.
