My contributions to the FTLOP 12th Anniversary Tasting.

1937 Quinta do Noval Colheita, bottled 2008
95 pts only good for 3rd on the night due to the presence of both Mourao "60" very old wines (white and tawny). Given the company, that's a mighty fine showing. Some had it a point or two higher, but I don't think anyone had anything higher than either "60".

1957 Porto Rocha Colheita, bottled 2006
A very nice tawny at 92 pts, but middle-of-the-pack on this night. There were a lot of heavyweights at the tasting.

1977 Graham Vintage Port
Tasted single blind out of 13 1977 VPs. My first "bad" bottle, though 92 pts is hardly a crime. Many people have commented on G77 being hot or showing VA, but out of a half dozen or so that I've tasted this is the first to show either issue (it was a little bit hot). Others thought it was better, with scores ranging as high as 94-95.

It ended up being a '66 Croft... I didn't think I had as many of those, so assumed it was '63 since the labels look similar. Great vintage, '66. Really smooth with nice touch of heat that blends in well with delicate mandarin orange flavors. Even though this bottle was top shoulder it shows well.

A bottle of Noval 1994. It suffered a bit from bottle stink and also being rather closed — the latter being a bit of a surprise.
