1997 Quinta do Crasto Colheita. Constant with my previous notes on it. Chilled a wonderful drink on a warm summer evening.

2011 Vieira de Souza Vintage Port for a party at a friend's house. (July #2 already!) Very primary and delicious, but starting to show a little turn toward aging as it slowly slips into the "down" cycle for the next ~15 years.

1977 Gould Campbell VP magnum

Showing very youthful. Guesses ranged from 1983 Ramos Pinto to 1994 Graham's to 2000 VP. Simply wonderful.

I opened a 1991 Krohn's Colheita tonight (with many other Douro wines) for a good friends 70th bday. While I took no notes given the party, This showed really well and was loved by all. Oh and the 2008 Vertice Douro is, IMO, better than the 2007 vintage. The 2008 has better acidity and crispness.

1987 Kopke Colheita, bottled 2013, to celebrate our 30th Anniversary (which was yesterday). A really superb showing and I don't think that's entirely due to the occasion. I'll generate a TN later this week.

1985 Fonseca VP vs 2000 Fonseca VP. Tasted with some cheese after a fine dinner.
Both were lovely, smooth and very well drinking right now, but we all preferred the 2000 over the 1985, as the 1985 showed some heat/burning alcohol in the aftertaste.

Opened a '66 Kopke Colheita tonight. Cause... why not!

Pretty damn good. Tasting notes will follow.

Very good reason for opening a bottle, I think.

I opened a bottle of Taylor Chip Dry and have been drinking Port & tonic all week. It's fun experimenting with the different makes and flavours of tonic and whether mint or lemon is best.

Is there a heat wave in London at the moment?

1997 Smith Woodhouse VP, 375 ml.
Selo suggested this was a leaker, but the cork was totally dry on top and upon removal confirmed that whatever was on the selo came from somewhere else. And it tasted good too.

Kopke 1966, 375ml. Sounds good to me! But I have a reason. Wow, it's as good as I remember. That was Sunday/Monday.
Tonight is a 1967 Taylor VOSHP This week is going to be lots of fun! I'm turning 60, the wife has a b-day too and our 36th anniversary, all in the same week. Cheers. :winebath:

Thank you very much, what a long strange trip it's been. Tonight is BBQ links and beer (Brother Thelonious) at the pool, however I'll be pouring something later with dessert, the 1965 Kopke. so far the 67 Taylor beat the 66 Kopke, so a rematch is demanded. VP's start on Friday night.

A 1998 Quinta do Noval LBV for the Port Club tonight (the theme is pairings of food with various wines--the LBV is for the last course). Double decanted this morning--lots of fine sediment, looks youthful.
