We realize this is never easy, but certainly better than having to look back at the end of December to come up with your favorite.

Probably would be the 1927 Noval VP from magnum. Just amazing.

I had to look back through my notes to be sure, but I was right - the best Port I had in the 1st half of 2017 was the S. Leonardo "60" Very Old White Port.

I've had it twice so far this year, but the 2nd time was in the 2nd half of the year. And no, it won't repeat in the 2nd half because at that tasting we had it side-by-side with the S. Leonardo "60" Very Old Tawny Port.

I know, I know, it's a rough life.

1975 Kopke Colheita bottled 2015. Easily the best so far.

Best tawny would be the S. Leonardo 60 Year Old White (97p)
Best ruby would be the Graham's 1985 Vintage Port (95p)

Chemo has made me very port-shy (can't stand the pain of high alcohol on raw mucous membranes) but the wine I just posted, the 2003 LBV from Warres (Traditional), was gentle enough to wash a baby in. or am I getting my commercials mixed up here?

Now that Glenn's got his order organised, I can truthfully say that out of the notes I have typed up from the first half of this year the best port I tasted (and consumed) was the Stone Terraces 2015. It just blew me away. I found it to be the most balanced, elegant and beautiful young vintage port I have ever tried — and I started drinking newly released vintage port with the 1994 vintage.

But then I haven't yet got round to typing up my tasting note on the magnum of Noval 1927 that Andy mentioned...

That is funny that you say The Stone Terraces 2015. I doubted bewteen the Niepoort 2000 and The Stone Terraces. But because i had a cask sample, i took the Niepoort.
The Stone Terraces i an amazing port, I like the complexity and different 'layers' in the port.
