Decanted 3 hours. Unfiltered. Lots of young red plums and anise on the nose. The palate also is very youthful still for a 21 year old LBV. Lots of red plums, licorice, some menthol, and black cherries. On the back end of the palate dusty tannins show up along with tobacco leaf and cedar. I was taken aback by how youthful this is still showing. While it doesn't quite have the depth of a top VP from the vintage, this isn't far behind and one of the best LBV examples I've had from this vintage. Sadly this was my last bottle and wish I had more, as this should age another 8-10 years with ease and it would be fun to see how it continues to age.
