Purchased during the FTLOP opportunity. Pop-n-pour as is my usual custom.
1976 Porto Rocha Colheita
bottled 2006
Color: light tawny/brown with dark orange highlights. In bright light some red highlights show up. Crystal clear. Looks a bit thin, though, if that makes sense.
Nose: caramel, vanilla, and dried apricots. Some spirit, but it is part of the overall impression. Faint cheap milk chocolate.
Palate: nice body and creamy texture. Prominent acidity. Tart apricots and blood oranges. Not incredibly complex, but satisfying.
Finish: relatively short profile, but the tail lingers for quite a while. Good warmth. Flavors echo the palate.
Score: 92 points. Very nice to sip on a rainy evening by the fire.

Glenn,
How would you contrast this with the 1976 Krohn Colheita.

Ambition driven by passion, rather than money, is as strong an elixir as is Port. http://www.fortheloveofport.com

I don't believe I have had the Krohn. I've heard a lot of good things about it, but I can't find a note for it anywhere. It's possible I had it at a tasting that I just haven't entered into the TNDB yet, but I can't think of which tasting that would have been.
