2003 Quinta do Tedo LBV
Sniffing reveals a slight warmth with lots of concentrated fruit and some spice; orange and cherry. There is grape jam mixed with fig spread, but not particularly oxidized fig. Then there is an herbal aroma-taragon; and a little paprika. This is very fresh in the mouth with good acid. There are light tannins, very pleasant now, but probably not enough for extended aging. Really nice finish with oxidized fruits now carrying for a good while. The finish also has some pleasant integrated warmth. 93-94 points. This is perhaps better than the 2003 Crasto LBV now, but probably won't live as long. Later I noticed more orange in the mouth, citric acid and dried orange.
