Decanted 6 hours, ink dark color. Opened for Valentine's Day.
Nose of brambles and dark berry fruit, along with pie spices.
Palate is full of dark fruit and pie spices, excellent depth and very present but maturing tannins. This port is about as good as LBV gets, not incredibly complex but very nicely balanced and in a wonderfully drinkable place. This is a wine that can go farther, but the bottle aging prior to release makes it wonderful now, even dialing it back a point or two for the environment.
