From a 375ml bottle which had a clear plastic capsule underneath the foil one. While I've seen plenty of double capsuled bottles, I've not seen a Port bottle with a clear plastic capsule.
Intense strong fruits, with blackberry and boysenberry, with a little bit of menthol; when decanted at 8 p.m. There might be a little smokiness.
Poured a glass around 8:30. The is definitely some pleasant alcohol warmth, more of the menthol, and some grape stem along with the berry jam. There is a faint wood aroma too, and perhaps some cilantro stem.
Lots of juicy puckery tannins, but not beyond my enjoyment threshold. I can taste the jammy sweetness coating my teeth, but this is not too thick. There is some refreshing acidic fruit juice too, cranberry cherry. Later, some blueberry.
I tasted again the next day, but didn't take notes at the time. Overall this was a very nice drink, still primary but enjoyable. 92 points? (Question because I'm going from memory a bit later now.)

The clear plastic, or clear sides with a colored top, was popular in the early to mid 2000's. It didn't last long though. I suspect the costs and that there really isn't a need for it caused it's demise.

It must be a TFP thing, because the 2012 Fonseca Guimarens half I cracked open a few days ago had one as well, black plastic though.Andy Velebil wrote:The clear plastic, or clear sides with a colored top, was popular in the early to mid 2000's. A fair amount of people used them, from what I've experienced.Bradley Bogdan wrote:It must be a TFP thing, because the 2012 Fonseca Guimarens half I cracked open a few days ago had one as well, black plastic though.Andy Velebil wrote:The clear plastic, or clear sides with a colored top, was popular in the early to mid 2000's.
