NV Blackett Reserve Tawny

Post by Rune EG »

Learnt during visit at Brunheda as part of 2016 FTLOP Harvest Tour that the Blackett Reserve Tawny was better than most Reserve tawnies I have tasted. Have later purchased some bottles to test out (and enjoy). Not often that we see bottling year of a Reserve Tawny.

Bottled 2016. Decanted 2 hrs (will next time increase it closer to 3 hrs). Colour is dark caramel brown with a touch of red. Aroma of wet wood and some citrus. Full to medium body. Powerful rough style. Citrus (acceptable level of acidity), honey, fudge. Nice tannins. Medium to long aftertaste. 88 pts.
