SAMMAMISH PORT CLUB - AUGUST 2017 - Seattle, Washington (8/4/2017)

Late Bottled Vintage Ports
  • 1992 Smith Woodhouse Porto Late Bottled Vintage - Portugal, Douro, Porto
    Unfiltered. Some cherry and mint on the nose. Light prune notes and some red fruit on the mid-palate. A touch of heat on the long finish. (91 pts.)
  • 1992 Dow Porto Late Bottled Vintage - Portugal, Douro, Porto
    Subtle aromas of dark fruit. Lots of dark fruit on the palate. Smooth, well-integrated mid-palate with some light spirit on the finish. (92 pts.)
  • 1994 Quinta do Noval Porto Late Bottled Vintage - Portugal, Douro, Porto
    Unfiltered. Dark, brooding color. Intense cherry and red fruit on the mid-palate. Pronounced tannins still present on the finish. (93 pts.)
  • 1994 Taylor (Fladgate) Porto Late Bottled Vintage - Portugal, Douro, Porto
    Corked. NR (flawed)
  • 1999 Quinta do Noval Porto Late Bottled Vintage - Portugal, Douro, Porto
    Some mustiness and green pepper on the nose. NR (flawed)
  • 1991 Ficklin Vineyards Vintage Port - USA, California, North Coast, Lake County
    Estate bottled May 1994. Dark fruit on the nose. Well-integrated palate with a touch of mint. This is an easy drinker. (90 pts.)
