1975 Kopke Colheita

Color: Light brown with orange hints. Looks very much like a light Madeira.
Nose: Fairly dark in tone, with apricots behind. Lemon/tangy overtone. Some dust which is probably just a side effect of alcohol. Toasted pecans.
Palate: Fully body, tart and thick citrus. Very good acidity. Powerful flavors similar in effect to bright tones, but not that zippy. Rich and pleasant. As Dom said, it's pecan pie on steroids.
Finish: Good length. Starts out tart then mellows. Smooth to the end.

95 points. A typical Kopke to me - dark and somewhat brooding with powerful flavors. Very similar to Kopke's 40 Year Old Tawny, but a little more focused and slightly less complex.

2nd place on the night with 3 votes (behind only the 1970 Taylor with 4 votes).
